Introduction

I got off the train in a suburb of Frankfurt. The air was clean and refreshing, and the sky was blue and cloudless. I breathed in deeply and started walking – a woman arriving alone in a strange city, sixth months pregnant and dragging a suitcase behind her. I was headed for my hotel but saw only open farmland spreading before me. The green meadows were a beautiful sight, but I was worried about seeing no sign of human habitation. I'd been hoping, at least, for a marker pointing to the Arkaden Hotel.
I took another deep breathe and knew. I just knew I'd find the hotel. Every bone in my body was telling me I hadn't come there for nothing. I knew I was doing the right thing and that I'd succeed.
I got one sudden sign of encouragement and reassurance: I felt kicking inside my belly. Yes, even my unborn baby believed in me. My husband's words were still echoing through my mind: "Go and show them what you have to offer. You know how good it is. You know how much it changed your own life and the lives of hundreds of women. And you know it works! You believe in it so much that you'll have no problem projecting it to others and ending up with exactly what you want. Go ahead. Prove, once again, that the Law of Attraction works, and that everything you wrote is right on target." And then, as if placing the final exclamation mark on his words, I heard my two children tell me, "Yeah, Mom, go for it!"

“Frankfurt Book Fair—here I come!” I walked on, still trying to convince myself that I was on the right path, literally and figuratively: "I'll find the publisher who believes in me and my book. I'll find the right publisher!" I was still deep in thought when the Arkaden Hotel suddenly appeared before me.
It was very modest-looking outside, but the magic of the place struck me the moment I entered.
Flowered, pink curtains like those in a fairy tale cottage, embroidered carpets warming the exposed wood floor, a wood-burning fireplace emitting the scent of freshly chopped logs. At the reception desk sat Diamantis Christoudis, the manager. He greeted me with a warm, friendly smile, as if I were his long lost daughter. In broken English, he invited me to join him and his wife for a cup of coffee and some homemade cakes. Communicating mainly with sign language, Diamantis arranged a ride for me to the fair with one of the guests. I went to my room to get organized and prepare for the meetings I'd arranged. I pulled out my dainty-looking, very comfortable black suit. I took a brief glance in the mirror and was satisfied. My eyes sparkled. I saw the gleam within me. I felt the energy flowing through my veins, and I was ready to enter the meetings with confidence.

Michael was second on my list. As soon as we met, I knew I'd succeeded. I knew I'd found the publisher who would believe in me, the one who would publish the book. And that is exactly what happened. As I sit and write these lines, I still choke up with tears of excitement.
The Law of Attraction has proven itself once again. And now, each and every one of you, dear readers, can read about it and learn it for yourselves – how to attract the reality you want into your lives, and not the reality your negative voice wants. In other words, how to become an attractive woman. Believe me, if I did it, anyone can.

The anecdotes in this book (with identifying details altered) are the real stories of women I have known, coached, and trained over the years. As you read, you'll join me on a journey on which we encounter the negative voices in our lives as women and learn how to respond to them.
In this way, we can apply the law of attraction and begin making ourselves attractive. We will discover what it is we consider most important and attract those things to our lives, we will learn about the power of thinking and its ability to generate a new reality – for  ourselves and for our environment – and we will discover the connection between listening to our bodies and improving our ability to attract. All of this will serve as a booster engine as we begin to soar upward.

In order to enjoy the book and make full use of the six codes it contains, I'd like you to pamper yourselves three hours, just three hours. Sit in a comfortable chair, make yourself a cup of hot coffee, and if anyone from your family disturbs you while you are reading, tell them you've gone on vacation for three hours. Even moms deserve that.

I promise that as you read this book you’ll feel that I’m speaking directly to you.
You’ll identify with the stories and anecdotes, laugh with me, and probably find yourself nodding very often in agreement.

I recommend that you keep a pencil handy to do the exercises in the book and the accompanying workbook. And remember, it all depends on us, us women. We can do it if we want to! And now, all that remains is to wish you an enjoyable and “attractive” reading experience.

A paragraph from the book

It’s Not You, It’s Your NAF

  • How many times have you tossed and turned, unable to sleep, reliving that unsuccessful conversation you had today, angry with yourself about the things you said, or didn’t say?

  • How many times have you conceded, given up, and not continued in the direction you really wanted to, just because you thought you wouldn’t succeed or weren’t good enough?
     
  • How many times have you said “Yes” when you really wanted to say “No,” just because you felt awkward?
     
  • How many times have you stood in front of that mirror, examining all your physical “imperfections,” and tortured yourself about them all day, and the day after?

Does that sound familiar? How many of those thoughts go through our heads every day and refuse to give us a moment’s peace, even at night when we try to fall asleep? How much of each day is occupied by those negative thoughts rushing around in our brains, confusing us, undermining us, and stopping us? Keeping us from attracting positive things into our lives – things we really want, dream about, long for?

Isn’t it time to put an end to it all? How much longer can we wear out our brains with so many exhausting thoughts?

There is a way to silence that negative voice we all know so well, the one that constantly echoes in our brain.

We can turn things around and begin to take control of our lives. We can attract what we want and are interested in, and not what our negative voices dictate to us.

Meet the NAF, our Negative Attractive Factor. Our NAF is our negative voice that leads us to attract into our lives what we do not want and what is not good for us.
The NAF creates our current situation and prevents us from changing it to one we truly desire.
In short, it keeps us from being attractive!

How does it do this? The NAF instills us with fear, and, as a result, it determines the vibes we send out. The most dominant of these vibes are negative vibes, and they are the ones that eventually attract the things we don’t' want into our lives.

I’m not only talking about one voice that threatens us. There's a whole chorus of negative voices singing within us, and we listen to them with our eyes shut. The amazing thing is how easy it is for us to get lost inside our negative voices. We fail to even recognize them as negative. We believe that our faults and inabilities are innate weaknesses and character flaws.
Why don't we listen to our positive, optimistic voices in the same unquestioning way?…

Remember: We attract into our lives everything that we're thinking about, focusing on, and emphasizing (good or bad, positive or negative). The Law of Attraction responds to the vibes we send out by giving us back more of the same, for better or for worse.

Imagine the following scenario: You’ve recently divorced and you’re interested in meeting someone new. A nice guy who could become your new life partner. Someone fond of your children, attentive to your needs. All in all, someone who’ll make your life pleasurable rather than miserable.

Option A: Your NAFs are echoing through your mind: “There’s no way you’re going to find a man. You always attract the ones you don’t want. You’ll never succeed in a relationship."
Frustrated, you say, half-moaning, “I want to find a man.”

Option B: You’re excited and a bit nervous about getting back into the singles scene.
You’re optimistic about your chances of finding a partner, and, your eyes gleaming, you say, “I want to find a man.”

Now I ask you, what vibes are you sending out in each of these options?

In Option A, despite your declaration, you’re sending out negative vibes – a lack of faith in yourself and your chances of fulfilling your wish. Chances are pretty good that you’ll attract precisely what you don’t want. The prospect you’ve been focusing on – that either no man, or the wrong man, will show up – is all you’ve known up to now and all you’re likely to know.

In Option B, you’re sending out positive vibes of excitement and anticipation. According to the Law of Attraction, you will attract men – a lot of men – regardless of your outward appearance. And out of all of them, you’ll be able to choose the one you want!

The reason, in either case, is very simple. We attract to our lives what we focus on, think about, and believe in – for better or for worse. That’s the Law of Attraction.

To Each Her Own NAF

And now, I've got news for you. Each and every one of us has an NAF. But each of us has her personal, particular type of NAFs. As you probably know, that "asset" does not belong to women alone. Our friends, men, suffer from NAFs to the same degree.
But their types are male NAFs, and that's the subject of another book…

Our NAF has a many-branched, hopelessly tangled family tree, consisting of generations of NAFs – brothers, sisters, cousins, grandparents, you name it. Each of these NAFs has a name and specific function. Each specializes in a particular kind of bullying.

There's an NAF responsible for our fear of stating our opinions publicly. It echoes
through our head and tells us that the minute we say what we think, people will make fun of us, get angry, or become hurt. After that NAF says what it has to say, we actually attract these undesirable situations into our lives. It's true, our expectations come true.

There's an NAF responsible for our fear of failure. It prevents us from trying new
things only because there's a chance we will fail.

There's an NAF responsible for the suffering our outward appearance causes us.
It tells us constantly that we're fat, that we've gotten old, or that we're not attractive.

There's an NAF responsible for our fear of illness. It tells us that every doctor's
visit will bring on a catastrophe.

And so forth. The list goes on…

I hope these little morsels will motivate you and serve as a reminder, reinforcing the material I’ve covered in my book. I suggest that you treat yourself to a real bowl of cherries as you perform these exercises. Make sure that you relish every bite of each juicy cherry you pop in your mouth. Savor the juiciness and remember that our aim is to add more cherries to the whipped cream of our lives. Cherries are juicy and sweet, but they can also be slightly tart.
We can’t remove the tartness, but we can do our best to extract all the juice we can, so we’re sure to get the sweetness as well.
